When sons were younger, was very involved with YMCA Indian Guide program, followed by participation with my sons in cub scouts and then boy scouts. Each of my sons holds the Eagle Scout rank. I coached soccer for 6 years for the team my sons Steve and Scott played on. Having never seen a game of soccer played prior to my sons joining a team, I was not well equipped to coach, but we had great fun nevertheless. Each of my sons played every sport that came along with great success.
Carolyn and I have maintained season tickets for Duck football for over 30 years. We currently have 16 tickets and each game is a family event. Each of our sons lives within 3 miles of our house, so we are able to do a lot as a family. I have filled and continue to fill some positions with the Lutheran Churches that we have attended. Everything from treasurer, congregation president, long range planning chair to foundation board member. I served on the ELCA Oregon Synod Council for 6 years and numerous committees related thereto. Among other things, I am currently a Board member at Legacy Health (6 hospitals in Portland). I have yet to do the things I anticipated doing once I retired from Morgan Stanley. There is simply not enough time!
