After high school I went to OSU and studied food science and business. I always worked in the food industry and lived in LA, New York, Denmark, Norway, and Alaska before moving back to Salem. My most unusual career was a homemade ice cream business in Anchorage with a cousin in the 80s.
Over the years I did different sports and adventure sports and took some interesting/exotic trips and vacations. Two memorable ones were rafting the Colorado through the Grand Canyon and going on safari in Kenya. And one highlight was meeting Jacques Cousteau in 1969 during my scuba certification in LA. I was a Big Brother in Anchorage and have been a mentor in Salem with Mid Valley Mentors.
These days I try to stay in shape and enjoy golfing, biking, and XC skiing. And I go to Corvallis and root for the Beavs in various sports.
