Judy Collins Evenson
Judy & Darrell May 14, 1944 ~ Nov. 7, 2010 ~ SALEM
Judy went to be with our Father in heaven at the age of 66 and to join the love of her life Darrell Evenson who passed on October 31, 2007. She had been fighting Alzheimer's disease and its complications for several years. She died at home surrounded by her loving family. Judy was born in Salem, Oregon to Lloyd and Ruth Collins in 1944. She was one of three children - All Girls. She graduated from North Salem High School in 1962. Shortly after graduating she married the man of her dreams, Darrell Edwin Evenson. They soon began their family by having three children, Darren in 1966, Deven in 1968 and Davis in 1972. Judy was a remarkable woman who was full of life. She enjoyed being a housewife, caring for her family (especially Darrell), going to the beach, gardening, painting, caring for animals, collecting and restoring antiques. Most of all she enjoyed being with her family, playing with her children and grandchildren. She was always strong willed and determined ~ never willing to give up. She was the true captain of the ship, Darrell definitely did what he was told by her and her only. She was a true giver, never asking for anything in return. She was a powerful wife, a wonderful mother, a spectacular grandma, a terrific sister ~ She was the Queen. She will be missed but never forgotten by all who knew and loved her. Judy is survived by children, Darren (wife Joanna) of North Plains and Davis (wife Tracie) of Salem; five grandchildren, Colby, Caitlin, Carson, Devon and Ella; her sisters, Norma Gabriel and Patty Kubishta and her cat, Mouse. She was preceded in death by her husband, Darrell Evenson and her son, Deven Evenson.
